Our story

Hi! My name is Miriam Glenn the founder and mama of Silky Babes & Co. Being born naturally curly and learning how to care for my natural hair, I became obsessed with trying new hair products and styles. I did a big chop March 2019 due to the different textures of hair and wanting to start my healthy hair journey. After learning to love my hair again, I begin creating YouTube videos of product reviews, new styles, and encouraging others to embrace their natural beauty regardless of their hair texture, type and length. 

It wasn’t until I had my second daughter Hannah (May 2021) that I began the hunt for a product to help protect her hair while she slept and took naps. I researched the market, tested a product that unfortunately didn’t work due to the sizing, and came up short for an affordable solution to my daughters baby balding and hair thinning. So, that’s when I started putting satin pillow cases everywhere she’d lay her hair, the crib, the swing, care seat and the floor. Yes! I was that mama who was determined to grow her hair back. I noticed within a few short months of using satin her hair started coming back in fuller. I was of course happy but I knew I couldn’t keep putting loose pillow cases everywhere, and that’s when Silky Babes was born. 

I created a satin crib sleeve prototype that not only was effective at solving our baby balding problem it helped preserve and protect her hair. As a mama who wears her hair natural, I was overjoyed that my little one would be starting her healthy hair journey! 

Our mission at Silky Babes & Co is to protect beautiful crowns by providing an effective solution to baby balding, frizz, and tangles. In addition, educate parents/caregivers about healthy hair care, and lastly encourage others to embrace their natural beauty as it comes from within! We appreciate the love and support always!
